Service strengths:

Parents and children help develop menu's.

The manager carries out monthly audits of accidents and incidents. We found the information is used to make the environment safer for children.

The nursery has an up to date Child Protection Policy and is in line with good practice.

We found the children have more opportunities to be independent. Children told us they enjoy the independence.

Childrens profiles were looked at. Information recorded in them told us staff knew children's individual likes/dislikes and preferances.

Staff respond quickly to childrens needs and are very caring towards them.

Quality of staffing: Care commission looked at the recruitment policy, the policy followed good practice guidlines and included references, medical and Disclosure Scotland checks.  The nursery was performing well in this area.

Staff have recieved some training for example Curriculum for Excellence and Assessment is for Learning.

We observed how staff worked and they appear motivated and worked well as a team.

The parents forum is involved in making decisions, including how to spend funding raised by the nursery.

Staff told us management asked for their ideas and used them to improve the service.

The nursery received no requirements.
